LottaStorage Privacy Policy

In short

Scanning and duplicate checks happen on your Mac.
No filenames, paths, file contents, metadata, scan results, or hashes ever leave your Mac.
There is no account, advertising, analytics, or telemetry, and no data is collected.
The app saves only its settings and the locations you choose to remember, and you can remove them at any time.

Files and scan data

When you choose a folder or disk, LottaStorage reads it on your Mac to measure how storage is used and to show you the results. Checking for duplicate files, which samples files and then compares their full contents with SHA-256, also happens on your Mac. The app does not upload or otherwise send filenames, paths, file contents, file metadata, scan results, or hashes anywhere.

Scan results are kept in memory while the app is open and are not saved as a scan history. LottaStorage does not download files that are stored only in iCloud or another cloud service in order to scan or check them.

What is stored on your Mac

LottaStorage may store:

its settings, such as your chart and Insights preferences; and
macOS security-scoped bookmarks for the folders or disks you choose to remember, so you don't have to grant access again.

This data stays inside the app's own sandbox container. You can remove a remembered location in Settings, which deletes its bookmark. Removing the app and its container removes these settings as macOS normally does.

File actions

LottaStorage can ask macOS to open an item, show it in Finder, preview it with Quick Look, or move an eligible item to the Trash. A move to the Trash happens only after you review the exact path and confirm, and the app checks the item again immediately beforehand. LottaStorage never permanently deletes files; items stay recoverable until you empty the Trash yourself.

Collection, sharing, and tracking

The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, telemetry, remote logging, third-party code, subscription service, or cloud backend. It has no network access and does not connect to the internet. AxoLottaLove does not collect, sell, or share data from the app, and does not use it to track you.

Apple's App Store privacy labels count data as "collected" only when it is sent off your device. Because LottaStorage processes everything on your Mac, it collects no data under that definition.

Your choices

Choose not to remember a location, and LottaStorage asks for access again next time.
Forget a remembered location at any time in Settings. No files are deleted.
Stop a scan at any time.
Remove the app and its container data.

The macOS open panel and your Mac's privacy settings stay under your control.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts, and it serves its own fonts. As with any website, the service that hosts these pages receives your IP address and the pages you request in order to deliver them.

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply to you.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of LottaStorage changes how it handles data, we will update this policy and the date above before that version is released, and the app's own privacy statement will change with it.
